CUSTOMER REQUIREMENTS
The University of Salford approached Promultis with the vision of enhancing their state-of-the-art MediaCity campus, known as “The Egg”. As part of one of the UK’s leading digital and media hubs, the university wanted the space to be both innovative and engaging for students. Their requirements included a versatile solution to share campus news and updates, support academic work and collaboration, and provide interactive entertainment. A key aim was to balance productivity with community, enabling students to complete coursework while also enjoying games that encouraged social interaction and strengthened bonds.
PROMULTIS SOLUTION
To meet the University of Salford's requirements, Promultis supplied 10 permanent Touch Tables, each running the Snowflake Suite interactive software customised by Stardotstar. With their sleek, modern white design, the tables blended seamlessly into the contemporary aesthetic of “The Egg”, complementing its forward-thinking architecture. Designed for reliable, long-term performance, the touch tables became a central feature of the campus.
The bespoke Snowflake Suite gave students and visitors access to multimedia content, web browsing, and a wide selection of games, striking the ideal balance between work and play. The Touch Tables also integrated effortlessly with other cutting-edge technologies in the space, including a 3D holographic machine and “The Wall”—a fully immersive system powered by Microsoft Kinect.
